The project consists of advancing a step in the current subtitling generation process. A subtitling generation system and ASR system, both commercials, will be chosen and the modules developed by us will be added to them. One of the modules will generate the punctuation of the transcription provided by the ASR system (nowadays, the respeaker has to dictate the punctuation marks). Meanwhile, the second module will be in charge of detecting the speaker turning points and doing the speaker clustering in order to assign the right colour to the subtitles. In this way, subtitling generation task will be make easier and it will be the first step towards the automatic subtitling. |

BerbaTek |
| |
In today’s globalized world, information is multilingual. As a result, its appropriate processing requires adequately dealing with all the languages in which information is encoded. The Basque Country has been facing the challenge of multilingualism for some time, since it is used to living in a multilingual environment. The different areas that comprise the Language Industry (such as Translation, Content and Teaching among others) have great relevance in the Basque Country. However, the sector must deal with increasingly significant challenges caused by globalization and the Internet. In order to improve and adapt to new environments and languages, it requires technologies that facilitate the management of multilingual text and multimedia information. The develpment of such technologies will allow the better positioning of the language industry in the new globalized, interconnected, superinformed and multilingual world. This is precisely the project objective: the development of language, speech and multimedia technologies needed to improve the economic competitiveness of the language industry in the Basque Country. |

Bi2Hiru |
| |
What Bi2Hiru proposes is an approximation in where once the domains are modelled (urban design and architecture) and using semantic techniques, a 3D model can be inferred from the 2D blueprints.
In nowadays market, several applications propose solutions to the automatic generation of 3D elements from 2D data. However, they have high costs and low efficiency. We propose a novel approach based on the use of semantics. We focus on the semantic load that can be added or extracted from a 2D element via its properties in order to infer an equivalent 3D object that is different depending on the domain.
We will develop a series of tools running in a commercial CAD package and a prototype that shows the possible different techniques we will develop along the project. |
