This area works in all TV and advanced audiovisual value chain related aspects as well as other multimedia services. The main research skills are: Broadcasting technologies (DVB-T,C,S,H – MHP, MPEG), content based multimedia analysis (for A/V automatic indexing, management and retrieval) and professional production for interactive services, virtual reality, HDTV, audio and mobile devices. |

The main research lines include the most recent advances in image analysis (image processing, segmentation, registration, fusion), visualization (3D, virtual reality, usability) and biomedical information management (transmission, representation, standards, interface). |

eTourism & Cultural Heritage Department aims at designing and implementing applications for the creation of interactive digital experiences that provide an added value to the services offered by the tourist, cultural and creative sectors. Among the key technologies in the area, Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies; mobile applications based on several location-based tracking; tools for content personalization; semantic-based searching algorithms; content annotation and indexing; and standard-based system for multimedia content creation and management. |
